Day 110

Today, I woke to a crescent moon and The North Star still showing. I decided I wanted to watch them until they faded into the morning sky. This started at about 5:30am and lasted until about 7am.

I managed to get John to go on errands with me. I was the passenger, so took photos out of the window, while he drove.

This is a tree with power lines. I like how part of the photo is blurred and part is not.

There are train tracks that run beside our house. This is the section we cross over a lot, to get to other places.

I took some random photos, by just focusing and clicking. I wasn't looking at the view screen. I like how this one has the sun and a color bubble, with the tall trees.

This is another random one. I don't know what caused that bright area on the bottom left. The top right is the sun.

Day 109

Today, John and I went to lunch at Applebee's.

After lunch, I saw these birds on the power lines, near our car. There were a few on the lawn, but John chased them. He's not a very good photography buddy. He says he was trying to get them to fly, so I could take a photo. Unfortunately, that doesn't help me, as capturing birds flying, takes some skill and patience.

These two birds were in a near by tree.

Shortly after I spotted them, one flew off and I was able to photograph that.

On the way back to the house, he drove, so I got to stick my camera out of the window and take random luck photos.

This is part of the hill near our house. A few years ago, this forest area was lush, but then a crew straightened out this section of road, and the trees suffered. They look odd with branches closer to the top, vs. evenly spaced along the trunk. This is normal of trees that are close together, but these no longer are.

While at the house, I noticed Pippi staring at the windowsill. When I looked where she was staring, I saw this ant. Sigh, I guess it's another Spring and Summer of killing ants.

Day 101

Today, I did a lot of work. Then, we went out for dinner and to see "Gnomeo and Juliet".

This is the morning light at about 6am. Yep, that is when I started working.

This is a Camellia bud. This is the only one that still has pink. Since that 1st snow of Winter, this bush hasn't behaved correctly. It creates buds that die at about this stage. Normally, the buds bloom fully and then die fairly quickly. I miss my blooms.

See, this one is already dead.

This was at about 2pm. I was a passenger in the car and decided to take photos of the sun along the power line side of the road with the continuous shooting setting. Since I can't stare at the sun while photographing, how the sun photos turn out are normally a complete surprise. I like how this photo has the lines going in both directions.

This is the next photo in the series. I really like the shape of this tree. The light plays with the color, it looks like the lines are melting into the tree. Very man vs. nature.

This is another one in that series. I love seeing a large tree high above others.

Notice how the clouds in the above photos are wispy? Well at about 4pm, they had thickened. They clouds weren't thick enough to prevent the sun from showing through. My camera picked this up weird in this photo but,...

...this is how it really looked. I like both photos though. Of course, I prefer the above one, because it's a bit spookier.
