The ferns on my hill have sprouted yellow flowers.

We went to lunch at Mi Hacenda. They have beautiful roses there, so I brought my camera along.

At home, I noticed this ant on a camellia leaf.

New camellia leaves are sprouting.

Today, I took photos from the living room window, and in the living room.

It wasn't until I edited the photos, that I noticed the rain drops on the leaves.

This large ant was sitting on an arm of my couch.

Day 163

Today's photos are by the stairs and path to our house.

This ant and inchworm where co-existing and occasionally swatting at each other.

This is a strand of oak tree pollen, which is actually tiny flowers.

The rhododendron buds started opening.

On the railing of the steps, were lots of little creatures. 

There were several tiny green insects moving swiftly.

There were about 6 inchworms inching along the rail. I took photos of a few of them.

These were going in opposite direction. When they inched into each other, they had a bit of a fight. I love how the ant is looking at them, as if it's a wrestling match and it's a referee.

Day 161

Today's photos were taken looking out through some windows in my house.

I woke up to foggy bedroom windows. Since the dogwood and other trees have new growth, I though this fog would make a nice natural defuser. 

I looked down on the bedroom window sill, to see this little ant. I took it's photo before smooshing it. We have an ant problem every Spring and Summer. Sadly, I have to smoosh all of the ants I find, so less come in.

This colorful insect was on the living room window.

Later in the evening, a large moth graced Pippi and I with it's presence. I wasn't able to take a clear photo of it, because it was moving quickly and taking clear insect photos at night is hard work. I like the moth shadow this photo shows with the moth.

This insect was clinging to the window. It stayed still for a while, until I started taking photos. Flash bothers insects, but it's the only way I can take clear insect photos at night.

Day 150

Today, I brought my camera with me while picking Alex up from Girl Scouts.

On the way to the car, I noticed several ants on the yellow flowers along the steps of the pathway.

While at the church, I photographed new growth on some plants.

Day 148

Today I walked around the parking lot a bit to check out some new growth

This is a small bush by our house. A few days ago, it just had tiny red buds, but now there are clusters of flowers blooming.

There are three of these trees along the wall of the first house by the entrance to our section. They have large pink flowers and buds on them. We think they are a taller version of a camellia bush.

By those trees is a white Dogwood tree. The blooms were too high up for me to get a nice close up, but I like this photo better anyway.

By the large rocks are a couple of these trees. I like the shape and texture of the buds with the fuzzy leaves.

Below the trees, around the rocks, are these wild flowers. If you look closely, there is an ant on the front flower.

While I was walking back towards my house, I noticed these red flowers on a couple trees in my front yard. Upon closer inspection, I realized they were red and pink Dogwood trees. Until I saw Noah's recent photos of his red/pink Dogwood trees, I didn't realize they came in different colors than white.

Day 147

Today, I took photos while Alex and the neighbor girl played and learned about different nature things.

The blooms on the white Dogwood tree finally opened fully.

These white flowers are high up on this tree.

The red Tulip by the bus stop, opened up. I love the contrast of the colors inside.

The girls and I were impressed with this ant carrying a flower bud.

These are two huge black bees flying high up. The ripples are due to this photo being taken through my 40 year old vaulted living room window.
