Day 329

While at my parents' house, I took some photos of their expansive English Ivy.

Day 243

Today Alex and I went to Colonial Williamsburg, VA to test out a history game they put together for families. It's a beautiful place, so while wondering around the grounds I took some photos.

This is male, because it's yellow. The females are almost black, but have the same details.

The sun was high above us all day with a heat index of about 108.

Day 211

Today, I took a few photos as we left the house for dinner and after dinner.

The hill in front of our house is covered in ivy and small trees, like these pines. It's a mess.

No mater how many times I tried to photograph the sun, the rays looked exactly the same. It was odd.

Day 197

Today, I went to Gallery 5 to drop off my skull sculpture for our Skulls exhibition for Skull Appreciation Day. Well, in this case, Skull Appreciation Month...

Ivy covers part of the side wall of the Gallery.

The trees lining the sidewalks near my car, were the same type, but of course each looks a bit different. These next 4 photos are of one tree.

Near dusk, I took photos of this tree that has white patches on it.

Day 177

Today we woke to a thick fog. After a few hours, the fog started to lift.

This is at about 9:45am.

Since, rain ruined our fun yesterday, we headed back to Brookgreen Gardens today. We focused on the garden area.

Ferns are growing on the break of the oak trees.

The squirrels here are larger than the ones at home.

These flowers varied in colors.

I love how the thick leaves of this plant cradled the water from the rain and created rounded drops.

These vines were growing through each hole of this wall.

Ivy was growing all over the bottom of this tree meeting the Spanish moss from the top of the tree.

There was a whole section of trees like this.

Many fountains and pools of water had water lilies and pads growing in them.

Last year, we visited in August and there were HUGE grasshoppers there, called lubbers. This year, we visiting in May and the lubbers were still tiny. However, we found them in large clusters.

Bubbles occurred naturally from a small waterfall.

There were several turtles on this circle. I liked the turtle with it's feet dangling and the one with it's feet tucked in. John and Alex let me take lots of photos of the turtles, close to the pond, before reading the "Beware of alligators and snakes" sign. Thankfully, we saw none of those.

Day 138

John drove today and I stuck my camera out the window. You know how this goes by now.

John decided I needed to photograph the train tracks in the other direction. If you look far back down the tracks, you will see a bridge. That bridge is used a lot. You probably won't notice it when driving over it, because it's small.

This ivy covered tree, to me, looks like a woman in a dress.

I love the way these clouds looked. The layers of them were neat to see.

Day 137

After lunch, John drove us home and I took photos of the trees from the passenger's side window.

In case you've never seen something like this, these trees are covered in ivy. It's not as bad as kudzu, but it still overtakes the trees.
