Day 402

Some of the trees have been budding and blooming. Here are some of my favorite ones.

Pine

If you look closely, you can see pine pollen trapped in the thread trails from inchworms.

I'm not sure what this is, but it's in full bloom with several buds still growing.

It's Autumn here, so that means the leaves have started to change colors. Here are various leaves at different stages of color change.

Day 271

The dogwoods have started to grow buds. If you've forgotten, we have three Dogwood trees. Each tree has different colored blooms (white, light pink and dark pink). It's no surprise that the buds are also different shades.

Day 168

A lot of early spring plants are dying shortly after they bloomed. However, there are new plants blooming and growing. There were lots of creatures today.

The white azaleas in our yard are wilting. They have had lots of rain and sun, but it's their nature to die quickly.

The dogwood blooms have mostly dropped off all at once, regardless of variety or when they bloomed. Very odd.

These are dying pink azaleas.

These flowers have grown paler overall, in color.

The center has changed in this flower.

This bush has recently grown new leaves.

This bush in our yard, has sprouted pink buds.

This chipmunk stood still for a while.

I took a step forward and it ran into this hole. I waited patiently and it poked back out of the hole.

There have been major storms in the area, but we have had light sporadic rain. Since we have a sky of thick clouds and clear sky, when the sun set, the clouds turned pink and purple.

John found this little frog for me. I tried to take clear photos without flash, but they weren't clear. I had to use flash, to pick up it's details, like the warts and blue spots.

Day 161

Today's photos were taken looking out through some windows in my house.

I woke up to foggy bedroom windows. Since the dogwood and other trees have new growth, I though this fog would make a nice natural defuser. 

I looked down on the bedroom window sill, to see this little ant. I took it's photo before smooshing it. We have an ant problem every Spring and Summer. Sadly, I have to smoosh all of the ants I find, so less come in.

This is a Common Redpole chirping in Crape Myrtle tree. 

This colorful insect was on the living room window.

Later in the evening, a large moth graced Pippi and I with it's presence. I wasn't able to take a clear photo of it, because it was moving quickly and taking clear insect photos at night is hard work. I like the moth shadow this photo shows with the moth.

This is my fuzzy moth hunting assistant Pippi with her "prey".

This insect was clinging to the window. It stayed still for a while, until I started taking photos. Flash bothers insects, but it's the only way I can take clear insect photos at night.

Day 157

Today, we ventured to Outback for lunch and then came back to the house, because John had to work later.

This little insect was on a leaf of our azalea bush.

At Outback, there was one rose on this bush. It was hidden, nestled among the thorny branches.

They had large clumps of tall beach type grass. This is an upshot of that.

When we returned, John noticed this little inch worm. He was holding it by it's string, but because that's hard for my camera to focus on, he placed it on a porch wall.

One of our bushes started growing buds. This one has unusual flowers later, which of course you all will see when that happens.

While venturing into our front yard that we share with one neighbor, I noticed how nice the dogwood trees looked backlit by the evening sun.

Day 152

Today, I walked through the backyard of our townhouse section.

Starting at the school bus stop, this is the tulip as it starts to die. Placing flowers at a bus stop, might be pretty, but useless if not watered.

I'm not sure what kind of flower this is, but it's in a pot with similar flowers, but in other colors.

Yellow Tulips

Purple flowers. Again, I don't know the name of these.

I love this beautiful two toned flower.

These Azaleas had various concentrations of pink. This one had the most.

Pink Dogwood

This camellia bush had large pink flowers on it. It's much taller than our light pink one.
