Day 358

While I was photographing the white azaleas yesterday, I noticed the creek run off was full of leaves and reflected the trees nicely. Today, I went back and took photos of it.

This is the last stop motion film of this project. They have been great to make. I'll definitely make more in the future, but of other things.

Day 294

The heavy rain of the tropical storm has supplied the creek with water. Before the rain, the creek had dried up, killing our grass.

Day 133

After Alex headed to school on the bus, I walked around and took more photos of new plant growth.

These are new leaves on a Dogwood tree. The leaves were wet with rain.

This is a Dogwood tree in our front yard. I like seeing the concentrated colors of the flowers as they grow larger. 

I wanted to play with the panoramic setting to better photograph the trees.

This is from my neighbor's house (connected to mine) to the trees on the other side of us.

These trees are ones I've photographed a lot in the past, but never in this perspective. These trees cross over the main path to my house.

This robin was nestled in a pine tree. The camera is focused on the pine tree, so the robin is a bit hidden. It's like the "Where's Waldo" of bird photos...sort of.

These bushes have small yellowish buds. They might be berries later. I'm not sure.

This bush has small pink and cream flower buds.

About an hour later, the sun shown brightly, making the creek glisten.

Then a few minutes later, we had a quick (about 10 minutes long) hail and rain storm. After it passed, a Common Redpole landed in the holly tree This was taken though a rain drop laden window. 

Day 117

Today, I stayed at our house, with the exception of walking Alex to and from the bus stop. On the way back from the bus stop, I took a few photos of new things along the path

These yellow wax like flowers have bloomed on a bush.

These leaves for flowers have grown, but no flowers yet.

There had been rain earlier in the day. These wet rocks showed colorful patterns.

Because the day was also cold, the flowers had closed up.

The sun in the back yard was shining bright. I like the way it glistens off the water in the creek.

Day 75

Today, the groundsmen came to collect the dead leaves. They use leaf blowers to do this. In the back yard, I watched them blow the leaves into the creek, vs actually collecting them, as they are supposed to. Blowing them into the creek can cause flow problems. However, one good rain will push the leaves down to the river eventually. I decided to take photos of the creek and the banks.

The water was so clear and still that the trees reflected nicely and the leaf covered bottom of the creek could be seen.

This is the beginning of this section of creek. It has less leaves because it's larger. I like how the trees reflect in the shaded and unshaded areas of the creek.

The moving water is clearly seen here. There is a small waterfall created by a dam of leaves.

There is a bit of a grotto area under the roots of tree. The leaves are the thickest here.

This bark on the banks was beautiful with it's many colors.

This limb was laying against a wood pile. It had many of these type of mushrooms on it.

Day 32

During the evening, we got another snow. This one lasted all day. The Robins flocked to the Holly tree for berries. They stayed until the sun went down. I took photos throughout the day.

This is part of the creek that runs behind out house. I thought it looked beautiful with the snow and still water.

Oh and if you wonder why all my photos are from indoors yesterday and today, I got a new tattoo on Saturday, so my arm is sore and I don't want to go outside for long periods of time, if I don't have to. I'll be back out tomorrow...maybe.
