Day 231

Today, we went to a friend's neighborhood pool for a few hours to let the girls play. I remembered my camera, but not my battery. Heather suggested that I use my camera phone, in hopes that it would take decent photos. These are photos of the foliage that overlapped the fence and provided us with shade. It's nice to know that my camera phone can be a nice back up.

Day 230

Today, I took photos from the living room window, and in the living room.

Junior Cardinal

It wasn't until I edited the photos, that I noticed the rain drops on the leaves.

This large ant was sitting on an arm of my couch.

Day 229

On the way back from a craft store, I noticed storm clouds forming. When we got home, I took some photos before the storm started. Alex sat on the front porch to be protected in case the rain started and from the falling nuts. She found the ladybug on the door mat.

Day 228

After dinner and a movie, we drove back to John's car. I took photos of a crape myrtle while he stayed with Alex.

Day 227

Today I took a few photos at Pocahontas State Park when I picked Alex up. On the way over the river, to dinner, I took a photo of the river while John was driving.

Day 226

Tonight we headed to Short Pump to eat dinner. The place we wanted to eat at had a long wait, so we went across the street. Before heading to the alternative restaurant, I took a few photos of flowers and trees at the outdoor mall. On the way home, I took a photo of the sunset.

Day 225

Today I noticed that the rogue tiger lily had opened 2 more blooms, but that the heat had wilted the flower. I suppose I should water it...but we have random storms.

Day 224

Today we went to Jason's Deli for dinner. I took these three photos of a caterpillar eaten tree, before having to quickly leave so John could go back to work.

Day 223

Today, we went to the Virginia Zoological Park in Norfolk, Va. We love this zoo! A few months ago, they finished building the Trail of the Tiger enclosures structure. We have been trying to go for months, so this was a special treat. I will include a few zoo resident photos, but plants first, since some of the zoo animals aren't natural to this area.

Swinging Primate. I didn't photograph the description, so I don't know what kind it is.

This ostrich was mad that a giraffe came near his woman. The giraffe just stuck it's tongue out at the ostrich. Eventually the ostrich just walked away...no longer protecting his woman. The giraffe went back to eating the roof.

I have no  clue why both giraffes were licking the posts and eating the grass roof. This is the baby giraffe.

Turtle

Meerkat

There were 2 adults and 6 baby geese. Two of the babies were too far to the left to easily get in the frame. The babies kept on walking for a bit then laying down.

The baby Prairie Dogs were wrestling. They were squeaking and having fun. One of the adults came over to regulate, but the babies continued to wrestle beside the adult.

Adult Prairie Dog sitting on a dome. This area has three domes that you can look through. Sometimes, you get wacky views like the butt of a Prairie Dog.

Day 222

Tonight, I took photos of the Tiger Lily that recently grew in my yard. It's a rouge one.
