Day 245

John pointed out that we have our own now domesticated "wild animal"...our cat Pippi aka "my furry no so helpful helper". She was a stray that a friend of ours was fostering. Due to not having a mother to teach her how to be a cat, she's still a bit wild and territorial. We like to mess with her when she's being moody, to try to wear her out of her attacking behaviors. After all, we are her "kitty" family, so we have to teach her how to be a cat. I've been taking photos of her being a trouble maker and sitting on the balcony between the rails. She's been doing this daily for weeks.

A bit out of the normal photos, but here is Pippi when we got her. This was taken on August 2, 2010. She was about three months old. She was fascinated by my laptop and typing. She would sit on my laptop or lay across my arms to prevent the work and get attention. It worked most of the time.

Today we went to a friend's house for lunch. She has an extensive garden. While I wondered around it, I took photos.

Today Alex and I went to Colonial Williamsburg, VA to test out a history game they put together for families. It's a beautiful place, so while wondering around the grounds I took some photos.

This is male, because it's yellow. The females are almost black, but have the same details.

The sun was high above us all day with a heat index of about 108.

I took some night photos. It was a bit creepy due to the tree frogs and cicadas chirping.

Today, Alex had a girl scout meeting. I took some photos at the church when I picked her up.

The new leaves on this tree were a pale green compared to the older leaves.

Our crape myrtle has pink flowers. This one is white.

The bud structure is the same on all colors.

I noticed this little dead beetle on the way to the car.

This morning, the sun was shining in a way to cast shadows of the crape myrtle, on the window and highlight the spider webs.

Today, we had more rain. I stayed indoors and took more photos from my living room window.

I thought this one looked like a bunny or a dachshund.
